It's 1962 and the space race is on! Complete your 5-4-3-2-1 countdown, find a test pilot and BLAST OFF!! to win the round! But, if another player has the most matching rockets, they'll cut into your profits. Always keep an eye out for imposers. If you capture them, the round will end immediately, and you'll take ALL the profit chips for that round!
BLAST OFF!! is played over 3 rounds. Each player starts with a countdown row of 5 cards facedown, and a hand of 2 cards. Each turn, a player draws one card and may place one rocket number they still need in their countdown row. They add the displaced card to their hand, and then must discard one to go back to a 2 card hand. It's a challege deciding what to hold onto, and how to avoid handing the next player a card they need.
The throwback art and simple mechanics of BLAST OFF!! disguise a challenging pub-weight good time with a little bit of take that.
